Information

The Unimatrix Pliers is an instrument designed to accurately and safely handle the Unimatrix system clamp and Elastic Wedges. Unimatrix is ​​a preformed sectional matrix system suitable for Class II composite resin restorations, consisting of metal dies and clamps for their fixation. TDV Elastic Wedges are intended for general use in restorative procedures using matrices, with the mechanical function of adapting the matrix and / or retracting adjacent teeth.

Indications

The Unimatrix Pliers are used in dentistry, pediatric dentistry and integrated clinical dentistry. It has the purpose of installing Elastic Wedges and the Unimatrix ring.

 Use

Unimatrix Rings: Place the Unimatrix ring in the jaws of the Unimatrix Pliers. Compress the pliers until the desired ring opening is obtained. Place the ring in the desired position and slowly open the Unimatrix Pliers. Remove the pliers from the mouth. Elastic Wedges: Select the wedge suitable for the procedure and fit it in the pliers jaws. Compress the pliers until the required thickness of the wedge is obtained. Place the wedge in the desired position and slowly open the Unimatrix Pliers. Remove the pliers from the mouth. When finished, pull the wedge by one of its edges and cut it in the middle, removing resulting parts from the patient's mouth.

 Warnings, precautions and restrictions

Professional use only. When there is proven allergy to any of its components, the product must not be used. For a longer useful life of the instrument, it is recommended to sterilize it by physical means. The utilization of the pliers for other purposes is the full responsibility of the user. It is recommended that the use of Unimatrix rings and matrices is always followed by a total isolation from the operating field, once loose objects can be accidentally swallowed or inhaled. It is recommended to keep the Unimatrix ring tied with dental floss. The pliers must be sterilized before its first use and after each patient.

 Physical principle of operation

Compressing the pliers handles opens the jaws. This movement opens the ring or stretches the wedge, enabling its installation.

 Sterilization

Sterilizable by autoclave (126ºC, 147 kPa, 16min). Before sterilization, proceed with the cleaning using water and enzymatic detergent.
